William Penn University to Host Community 5K Color Run on September 20
OSKALOOSA, Iowa — William Penn University’s Kinesiology Club and ASA are inviting students, families, and community members to take part in a colorful celebration of wellness and school spirit during the William Penn College & Community 5K Color Run, set for Saturday, September 20, 2025.
The event will begin with a shuttle service at the Lacey Complex between 4:00–5:00 p.m., taking participants to the starting point of the course. The run will finish at Statesmen Community Stadium, where a tailgate is scheduled from 4:30–6:00 p.m. with food provided for all.
The cost to participate is $2 for students and $10 for non-students. Registration includes a free shirt for those who sign up by September 1, guaranteeing their preferred size.
Organizers are also working to involve local businesses in the event. Opportunities include running color powder stations along the course and providing hydration support by spraying water or distributing drinks. In return, businesses will be recognized on event banners, promotional materials, and social media.
“This event is about bringing people together,” said Lilly Ostert, president of the William Penn University Kinesiology Club. “It’s designed to promote wellness and community spirit while making lasting memories.”
The Color Run concludes with a color toss and kickoff at Statesmen Community Stadium at 6:00 p.m., marking the start of the evening football game.
