William Penn Takes Advantage of Turnovers to Drop Harris Stowe-State 88-63
Oskaloosa–A poor start gave way to another dominating performance by the Statesmen basketball team in an 88-63 non-conference win over Harris-Stowe State (Mo.) Tuesday night.
#19 William Penn (9-0) did not score until the 17:17 mark and still trailed 8-7 with 11:59 remaining. The navy and gold warmed up a bit, but not much, shooting just 28.6% in the first minutes (34.5% for HSS). The game was over soon after intermission with the home team scoring 11 of the first 13 points. William Penn shot 60.0% in the second stanza (42.9%-36.8% final edge) as the margin grew to as much as 31 points with just over five minutes left.

Brandon Beasley (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind., Physical Education) added 15 points, while Taylor Stoutner (Sr., Keota, Iowa, Physical Education) also reached double figures with 12. Steffeck and Stoutner both hit four three-pointers as the Statesmen made 14 total shots from behind the arc on the evening. Beasley tied for the game lead with three blocks (WPU had eight rejections).
Kevin Fay (Jr., Hennepin, Ill., Education) added nine points, while Blake Walker (Jr., Rose Garden, Ga., Physical Education) poured in eight in addition to ten assists.
