William Penn Fourth in Preseason Coaches Rating

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen baseball team is expected to be in the middle of the pack when diamond play resumes next spring as the Midwest Collegiate Conference preseason coaches’ poll was released today.

William Penn, who was 20-26 last year (13-11 MCC), is picked to finish fourth in the six-team league with 12 points.

Defending regular season co-champion St. Ambrose leads the group with 24 points and four first-place votes, while tournament champion Grand View is a close second with 21 points and the other two first-place votes.

Mount Mercy (18 points) is third, while Clarke (9 points), and Viterbo (6 points) round out the poll.
