WARRIORS TAKE DOWN PANTHERS ON SOPHOMORE NIGHT

Centerville, IA – The No. 1 ranked Indian Hills Women’s Wrestling team picked up a 46-8 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) victory Wednesday night over Ellsworth Community College.

Wednesday’s dual saw just four matchups at the Multi-Purpose Building with the Warriors taking two victories to go along with seven forfeit wins.

Freshman EmmaLyn Burnett (Kansas City, MO/Platte County) secured the Warriors’ first true victory of the night at 124lbs with a first round pin in 2:30. Burnett has now earned five falls on the year.

Sophomore Sarah Lewis (Centerville, IA/Centerville), competing in front of her home crowd on sophomore night, earned a fall in 45 seconds to cap the night for the Warriors. The pin was the ninth career fall for Lewis.

Indian Hills moves to 3-0 all-time against the Panthers while the Warriors improved to 9-2 overall on the year and 4-1 in ICCAC action. The Warriors have outscored their conference opponents 182-48 on the year, tops in the ICCAC.

The Warriors will wrap up their ICCAC regular season schedule with a trip to Estherville, IA to take on Iowa Lakes Community College on January 30.
