November 18, 2025
Daytona Beach, FL – The Indian Hills Men’s Soccer squad advanced to the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men’s Soccer National Championship semifinal round via goal differential. The Warriors fell 1-0 to top-seeded Tyler Junior College (TX) in overtime on Tuesday, but Indian Hills’ +3 goal differential pushes the Warriors through to the next round.
With Monday’s 5-1 win over 12th seeded Montgomery College (MD), the Warriors secured a spot in the semifinal round for the second consecutive year. Despite Tyler’s win over the Warriors, the Apaches fell due to its 2-0 loss to Montgomery on the opening day Sunday, giving Indian Hills the advantage due to goal differential.

The Warriors and Apaches played to a 0-0 scoreless tie through regulation. With the scoreless regulation in tact, the Warriors secured their bid to the semifinals, but due to NJCAA regulations, the two sides were required to play the overtime period to determine the winner. The Apaches scored a goal 2:48 into the extra session, but the goal did not change the Warriors’ outcome.
Indian Hills managed a defnsive-minded approach throughout the 90 minutes of regulation to hold Tyler scoreless. Freshman keeper Matteo Malaguti (Mantova, Italy/Liceo Isabella d’este Mantova) was faced with just one shot on goal, but anchored the defense to keep the Apaches out of the back of the net.
Semifinal start times are set for 9:00 AM CT and 12:00 PM CT Thursday in Daytona Beach. The Warriors are currently slated for the opening matchup and will most likely play the highest remaining seed at the conclusion of Pool Play.
This story will be updated following the conclusion of Pool Play which will determine the Warriors’ semifinal opponent.
