Three Pitchers Team Up As Oskaloosa Indians Varsity Shuts Out Newton

Oskaloosa Indians Varsity defeated Newton 3-0 on Wednesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Marcus Fresquez got Kael Swarts to hit into a fielder’s choice to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Oskaloosa Indians Varsity pitchers struck out six, while Newton pitchers sat down eight.
Oskaloosa Indians Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Charlie North drove in one when North singled.
A single by Drew Thompson in the fifth inning was a positive for Newton.
Jarrett Czerwinski took the win for Oskaloosa Indians Varsity. The righty surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two and a third innings, striking out one and walking one. Alex Christ and Fresquez entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Riley Mouchka started the game for Newton. Mouchka allowed four hits and three runs over five and a third innings, striking out six. Brody Bauer threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
