The Oskaloosa Water Board Approves Post-Employment And Housing Agreement With Coon
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Water Board met in regular session on Monday, the last such meeting outgoing General Manager Chad Coon would take part in.
Coon’s last day with the department is May 3rd, 2019, and he will begin his duties with the Waterloo Water Department days later.
The board approved a contract with L.A. Lawn Care for mowing the water treatment plant grounds.
The board approved pay application number 8 from Dave Schmitt Construction for the South D water main replacement.
The board also approved updating Water Department Rules and Regulations. One of the rules involves language regulating how payments are made, including the use of excessive coinage, and updating the current water rates.
The language also included changes to the water department response to customer inquiries to potential water leaks, stating the department will be to the customer by the next business day.
The board approved providing contingency funding for A Avenue West, Highway 432, and North L Street water main replacement project.
In regards to consideration of a post-employment consulting agreement with outgoing Director Chad Coon, the board agreed to a consulting contract, that will be in effect until a time after the new Director is hired.
The board also approved a tempory housing agreement with Coon for the residence owned by the Oskaloosa Water Department. According to Coon’s contract, he’s allowed to utilize the home for two months post-employment. The board then charged him market rate for rent on the third month. The lease amount added up to $910 for the term.
