The Hunt Was On At The PAC
William Penn University held it’s annual Easter Egg Hunt this afternoon April 26th, starting at 4:00 p.m. It was held in the PAC Center due to unfriendly weather conditions. The hunt was scheduled for last week but was moved to today because of rainy conditions, and had been scheduled for the front lawn.
PASS (Programming Activities for Students by Students) normally does events and functions for the school itself, but this event allows them to interact more with the community.
William Penn has been doing their annual hunt for the past 5 years. Even with the delays and change of venue, there was still about 25 kids that found their way to the turf at the PAC Center. If you have never seen the PAC Center and the size of the turf area, it is “40 yards of indoor turf” and it gives more than enough room to run and hunt.
Levi Tarbell, director of the PAC Center, was on hand to help spread the eggs across the turf, and to help the event go smoothly. Tarbell says they had over 1500 eggs this year, “which is the most we have had at this event”, “it took some time” Tarbell said of prepping the eggs for the hunt.
There were 3 golden eggs placed in the youngest age group area (1 and 2-year-olds), when found, it could be turned into the Easter Bunny for a special gift. That gift was a giant stuffed bunny that was nearly the size of the kids themselves.
If smiles are a measure of success, then even with the smaller turn out this year, I would say it was a huge success.
