Students Serve Up More Than Dinner

The Oskaloosa High School Student Council once again hosted their annual spaghetti dinner on Tuesday night.
Oskaloosa, Iowa – A yearly tradition of spaghetti and meatballs serves up more than just pasta, but also helps in giving back.
The Oskaloosa High School Student Council once again served up their annual meal to hungry parents, students and guests on Tuesday night at the home basketball games against Grinnell.
They prepared enough to serve 300 people, with the local Hy-Vee giving a discount to the council on the purchase of the food. Attendees were only asked to make a free will donation in exchange for the spaghetti supper.
The food preparation started at almost 4pm, and ended after the half-time of the boys game.
Sarandyn Curtis, Historian with the student council, said that beyond helping to raise money for the council and their efforts with prom, “it allows us to donate to other organizations.”
This year, their donation is going to the American Cancer Society.
