Stouffer Ending Time At Oskaloosa Christian School
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Back in May of 2014, the Oskaloosa Christian School announced the hiring of Dr. Bob Stouffer as the principal for the upcoming school year.
Stouffer came to Oskaloosa via the Des Moines Christian School, where he was the superintendent for 14 years.
Stouffer and the Oskaloosa Christian School Board knew that the position was being filled in the near future. Recently, Stouffer announced that he would be leaving the school to take a similar job at Southside Christian School in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
The Oskaloosa Christian School will welcome Joe Venema as the new principal to the school for the 2016-17 school year.
During his time at Oskaloosa Christian School, Stouffer has worked to help make the school a bigger part of the Oskaloosa Community.
Stouffer said that his time in Oskaloosa has been a “really positive experience, and had a lot of good interaction and relationships with many people in Oskaloosa and surrounding communities.”
Stouffer was more use to a suburban type of school district, but says that “coming into a farming community was really eye-opening for me. I learned alot about the farming community. I rode a combine one afternoon, all afternoon with Steve Boender. That was awesome.”
“One thing I havent done is sorted hogs. I was told that was something I needed to do before I go,” smiled Stouffer. “So that might be one of my last bucket list items.”
As Stouffer looks to close the chapter on his life at Oskaloosa, he encourages those involved with the Oskaloosa Christian School “to remiain committed to Oskaloosa Christian and a Christian education. It’s a very powerful model of school and it’s one that I believe in heartily.”
Stouffer also encouraged the Oskaloosa community “to want to improve and enhance the quality of life in the city. Hopefully Oskaloosa Christian enhances the community experience that way. All of us have a responsibility.”
“We need to be pouring out lives into those communities, improving the quality of life and making a great place to live.”
