Statesmen of the Week: Nick George and Sarah Gallivan

Oskaloosa–Baseball player Nick George (Jr., Sarina, Ontario, Sociology and Human Services) and softball player Sarah Gallivan (Sr., Round Lake, Ill., Secondary Education) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of March 27-April 2, presented by Gardner Collier Jewelry.

Over the span of six games, George recorded a .625 batting average (10-for-16 with four doubles and one home run) with nine RBIs and four runs scored. He had a top performance last Sunday of going 3-for-3 with four RBIs against MidAmerica Nazarene. The junior also walked seven times and was hit by pitch on six more occasions for a gawdy .793 on-base clip.

In four contests, Gallivan hit .400 (4-for-10) with one RBI and two runs scored. She was also hit by a pitch once and tallied 14 putouts (1.000 field percentage).
