Statesmen of the Week Awards to Keykal, Griffin

Oskaloosa–Men’s bowler Bryce Keykal (Fr., Princeton, Minn., Education) and women’s wrestler Toyia Griffin (Fr., Nashua, Iowa, Nursing) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of February 7-13, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Keykal had a record-breaking outing last Saturday at the Baker Wildcat Challenge, knocking down 1,125 pins in five games for a 225.0 average. His efforts were headlined by a perfect 300 game, the first one in program history. The freshman tallied two other games over 200 as well to place third out of 98 total individuals.

Griffin owned a 2-2 record for the week, highlighted by going 2-1 at the Midland Open last Saturday. She pinned her first two opponents on the day to reach the finals.
