Statesmen at #28 to Start Spring Campaign

Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s golf team begins its spring season in a good position nationally as the NAIA released its third top-25 poll recently.

The Statesmen are unofficially 28th with 40 points. The navy and gold have posted two tournament wins, a match-play title, a runner-up finish, and a third-place effort last fall.

WPU is joined by Central Methodist (T-36th) as representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll.

Keiser (Fla.) is the new #1 with 402 points and 11 first-place votes. Oklahoma City is second with five first-place votes, while Dalton State (Ga.), British Columbia, and SCAD Savannah (Ga.) conclude the top five.

William Penn opens its spring season on March 28-29 by traveling to Silvis, Ill. to host the TPC Deere Run Invitational at TPC Deere Run Golf Course.
