Spectacular Tree Lighting and Awards Ceremony

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Friday Night November 30, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in Oskaloosa Downtown Square.
Come and join in the fun at Oskaloosa’s first Spectacular Tree Lighting and Awards ceremony.
Come and get a closer look at some of the beautiful floats who participated in this years Lighted Christmas Parade. The floats will be displayed around the city square for your enjoyment. Awards for the best floats and other city contests will be awarded during the evening along with meeting the Young Ambassadors.
Santa, Mrs. Claus, their elves and reindeer will be anxious to meet you and your family. Have your picture taken free and get your Christmas order into Santa early. They were invited to this event by a special invitation from Mahaska Drug.
Enjoy live music by “Kassie” a popular Nashville singer sponsored by Bank Iowa. She will sing some of your favorite Christmas and country songs.
Grubby’s Cinnamon popcorn will be available for a special Christmas treat. A local 4H group “Scott U Need Us” will be selling hot chocolate and baked goods. Smore’s will be cooked on the fire and made to your liking.
Lighting of the thirty foot Christmas tree will take place at 6:30pm. The honor of flipping the switch will be given to Citizen of the Year, Steve Brown. This is Oskaloosa’s first city Christmas tree. You don’t want to miss it!
