Seniors Pritchett, Golomski, Kreuser Earn All-MCC Recognition
Oskaloosa–Three Statesmen seniors were honored for strong hardwood campaigns as the all-Midwest Collegiate Conference women’s basketball teams were announced by the league office Tuesday.
Janay Pritchett (Sr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Biology) was picked for the league’s 10-person top squad, while Katie Golomski (Sr., Milwaukee, Wis., Psychology & Sociology) and Jessie Kreuser (Sr., Mendota Heights, Minn., Physical Education) were named to the 12-player honorable-mention list.
The honors are the third for both Pritchett and Golomski, while Kreuser is a first-time recipient. The trio highlighted William Penn’s season in which the navy and gold finished 11-19 (4-8 MCC).
Pritchett collected her first first-team accolade by averaging a team-best 16.5 points in addition to 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists. She also had 38 steals and one block, while shooting 41.0% from the field. The senior, who tallied 25 double-digit showings (one double-double), also paced WPU in free-throw (75.6%) and three-point (39.0%) shooting.
A two-time MCC Player of the Week, Pritchett led the conference in three-point percentage. She also ranked third in scoring, fourth in three-pointers made (53), and sixth in assists, free-throw percentage, and minutes played (30.8).
She finished her career with 1,138 points and is fifth at WPU in free-throw percentage (.788).
Golomski’s third honorable mention came on the heels of her averaging 7.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and a team-best 3.0 assists. She also tallied 15 steals and 13 blocks. Golomski hit double figures eight times with one double-double.
The senior was third in the MCC in made three-pointers (57), fourth in assists and defensive rebounds (6.2), fifth in three-point percentage (33.1%), sixth in rebounding, seventh in minutes played (30.5), and ninth in blocked shots (13).
The program’s all-time leader in three-pointers with 268, she joins Pritchett as a member of the 1,000-Point Club (1,087 points).
Kreuser tallied 12.2 points per game in addition to being the team leader in rebounds (8.0) and blocks (45 total). She shot 42.5% from the floor with 38 steals and 27 assists, and also posted 17 games in double digits (eight double-doubles).
The senior ranked in the MCC’s top 10 in several categories, including second in offensive rebounds (3.1), third in blocks, fourth in rebounding, eighth in field-goal percentage and defensive rebounds (4.9), and ninth in scoring.
One of the top rebounders in school history, Kreuser ends her career ranked eighth with 733 rebounds.
St. Ambrose’s Katie Jensen claimed MCC Player of the Year honors, while Clarke’s Kea Whittington garnered Newcomer honors. Clarke’s Don Adams, who led his team to the MCC Tournament title, was named MCC Coach of the Year.
