Robby Lee Brown, 50, of Oskaloosa, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Robby was born June 25, 1972, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Ronald Brown and Nichola (Hughson) England.
Robby attended Waverly High School and graduated in 1990.
Robby traveled all over Europe training horses until 1997 and in Iowa until 2002. He also worked at Norbys Farm Store in Waverly until 2001. He then worked at Stravers True Value until they closed in 2018, and VanHaften Plumbing and Heating until 2021. In 2022, Robby had a medical event that led him to partial retirement. In April 2023, he started working again at Two-Rivers Co-op.
Robby loved training horses, taking his dog Freya on adventures, playing frisbee golf, canoeing with his Family, tinkering around with his stereo and playing music, working on whatever project he could find, and being in his garden.
His Family includes his wife, Erica Gaede of Oskaloosa; their children: Destiny (& Grant Rausch) Brown of Marion, Treyten (& Katie Elder) Brown of Oskaloosa, and Bailey Brown of Oskaloosa; two grandchildren, Samuel and Brylee; his mother, Nichola England of Mesquite Texas; a brother Rodney (& Tina) Brown of Ettrick Wisconsin; father and mother-in-law, Steven and Ruth Gaede of Denver, IA; a sister in law, Stephanie Gaede of Waterloo; two dogs Freya and Libby; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Brown; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, at 10 am at the Bates Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chad Lierman officiating. As Robby’s wish, his body will be cremated following the funeral ceremony. The Bates Funeral Chapel Is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be Monday evening June 19, 2023, at the Bates Funeral Chapel, with the family greeting friends and Family from 5-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to the Family.
