The Oskaloosa held the first ever track meet at the Lacey Recreation Stadium on Saturday April 12th. The competition was energized and the crowd was happily enthused as they looked on. Near 600 people came to cheer their favorite team, one mom stating “This is great, I have a middle schooler who will compete here this year and he is so excited! He can’t wait to run on the new track!” The day was great and one first time visitor stated “Today feels happy! Track is a great sport!” William Penn was present to start the day with a ribbon cutting for the track’s first use. Penn will host a track meet next weekend at the stadium.
