Oskaloosa–Janay Pritchett (Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Biology & Sociology) is scoring at a frenetic pace as of late and people are taking notice as she collected Midwest Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors Monday.

Pritchett earned her first career award after posting a pair of 25-point showings last week against Grand View and #17 St. Ambrose.

The junior has now scored exactly 25 points in three straight games and four of her last five. Last week, she also notched seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal in addition to 51.6% field-goal shooting (16-for-31) and an 81.8% clip at the free-throw line (18-for-22).

Since dropping to a season-low 11.7 points/game average on January 15, Pritchett has turned into a scoring machine with a 22.8-point clip that has helped her again become William Penn’s leading scorer at 14.8 points.

For the year, Pritchett is also averaging 2.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 0.9 steals. She is hitting 43.6% of her field goals (11.8% 3-PT) and is 79.2% from the charity stripe.

It is the program’s second weekly laurel of the year.
