Pedestrian Hit And Run Reported In Beacon
Beacon, Iowa – The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 600 block of Front Street in Beacon on Tuesday night.
Deputies were dispatched at approximately 7:52pm in reference to a 14 year-old girl being struck by a vehicle.
The 14 year-old female was transported to Mahaska Health Partnership by ambulance.
The accident report states that the 14 year-old female was out for a walk when she was reportedly struck by a vehicle. The mother reported to deputies that she drove to Grant Street where she picked her daughter up, and took her home, then called 911.
Deputy Ben Johnson says in the report that he spoke with the 14 year-old, who says she was on her way home and was hit by a car. The female 14 year-old says she was hit from behind and didn’t get a look at the vehicle. The female then called her mother who walked over and then helped her walk home where she called 911.
The report states, “While on scene I observed no visible injuries to [female]. Deputies were also unable to find any markings such as tire skids along the roadway of where the incident reportedly took place. There was also no findings of any physical evidence where the accident occurred.”
