Paul David Jespersen, 59, Michigan City, Indiana, formerly of Albia / Muscatine Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at the Franciscan Health Hospital in Michigan City, Indiana on October 8, 2021. Paul David was born in Waterloo, Iowa to Edwin and Virginia Jespersen (Stewart) on September 18, 1962.

Paul grew up in Albia and graduated from Albia High School in 1981.

Paul later joined the United States Army where he trained in electronic wiring systems. Paul was always very proud of his service, and often said that his time in the Army was “when he felt at his very best”. Paul also worked several years for the HJ Heinz Co. in Muscatine, Ia, as well as later coming to work in the skilled trades as a Union Millwright and an Iron worker.

Those left to honor Paul’s memory are his two sons, Kody of Portland, Oregon and Dustin of Rapid City, South Dakota; his four siblings: Randy, Mike, Robert and Shannon, all are now currently living in Iowa. There are Nieces and nephews, and cousins that Paul had as well, and very special Aunts & Uncles in the Albia area.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family burial was held at Oak View Cemetery on November 2, 2021.
A Celebration of Life service, including military honors will be held at a later date at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia.
