Oskaloosa XC Has A Strong Showing In Fairfield

The Oskaloosa Cross Country teams were in action Thursday at the Fairfield Invitational. The boy’s team finished third behind Ottumwa, and Clear Creek-Amana in the nine-team meet Brayden Van Kampen led the Indians, runners, finishing ninth in 18:14, Patrick DeRonde followed in 19th in 18:30. Kaden Gerard finished 22nd 19:06, William Leonard finished 23rd 19:10, Aden Scott 24th 19:44.
The girl’s team finished fourth in the eight-team meet. Addi Carter led the Indians in 11th 23:26, Abby Lumsden finished 18th 24:07, and Sage Adam was 21st 24:27.
Coach Mile Comfort said, “I thought we competed very well in the heat and humidity. We continue to put ourselves in good positions through two miles; now, we need to work on our third mile.”
Oskaloosa returns to action on Tuesday, September 17th at their home meet held at Edmundson Park in Oskaloosa.
