Oskaloosa Trees Forever Plant 53 Trees

On Saturday, October 8th, the Oskaloosa Trees Forever Club along with volunteer representatives from the Forest Cemetery staff, the Lions Club, Optimist Club, Oskaloosa Rotary Club, and the Young Professionals planted 53 landscape size trees at Forest Cemetery and Edmundson Park.

More than 38 different species of trees were planted to help improve the diversity of Oskaloosa’s tree population.

Oskaloosa Trees Forever has been planting trees in Oskaloosa since 1992. Each fall, up to 100 trees are planted in public areas. Also, every year, saplings are given to all second graders in the Oskaloosa Elementary School and to the general public on E Cycle Day. Trees Forever helps to distribute assorted trees thru the Plant Some Shade program sponsored by Mid American Energy and the DNR.
