***Update*** Individual has been located.
On Wednesday May 21, 2014 the Oskaloosa Police Department received a report that Albert Vanderbeek, age 85 of Oskaloosa has been missing since 8:00a.m. Tuesday May 20th. Mr. Vanderbeek is described as a white male 5’06” 1601b. Mr. Vanderbeek left his residence early Tuesday morning to go mushroom hunting at an unknown location and has not yet returned. Mr. Vanderbeek is believed to be driving a Gold 1998 Pontiac Grand Am 4-door Lic/343YRJ. Due to Mr. Vanderbeek’s age there are concerns for his health and mental awareness. The Oskaloosa Police Department is asking that if anyone observes the vehicle or Mr. Vanderbeek to contact the Mahaska County 911 Center at 641.672.2557. If anyone has information in regards to Mr.
Vanderbeek’s location they are encouraged to contact the Oskaloosa Police Department at 641.673.3201.
