Oskaloosa JV Football Drops In Tough Loss To Knoxville

The Oskaloosa JV football team loss to Knoxville Monday night in a very back and forth battle dropping their record to 5-3 on the season. The Indians jumped out to a 20-0 lead before giving up a 70 yard touchdown pass right before half to make the score 20-7 at halftime. Knoxville then scored after half to make the score 20-14. The Indians offense have a drive going but a fumble gave the ball back to Knoxville. Knoxville then drove 85 yards for a touchdown and made the PAT to make the score 20-21. The Indians then had to punt and the defense forced a Knoxville punt that was down at the 2 yard line with about 2 minutes left. After a nice Drew Sam’s run for 12 yards the Indians had room to work. After a short completion the Indians ran a reverse pass that Alex Chapman threw to Izaya Strait that went for a 74 yard touchdown to give them a 5 point lead. Osky then went for 2 points and got it making the score 28-21 with 1:20 seconds left. After the kickoff the Indians stopped Knoxville at their own 15 yard line. Knoxville then had a big run out to mid field and then threw a couple of passes to score a touchdown with 30 seconds left. Knoxville then went for 2 points and got it making the score 28-29. The Indians offense made a long run and then a couple of passes and got the across midfield before the clock ran out. The JV team plays again Thursday night in Carlisle for their final game of the season.
