Oskaloosa Indians Varsity Drops Game To Pella After Late Score

Oskaloosa Indians Varsity lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat to Pella on Monday. The game was tied at two with Pella batting in the top of the fifth when Keegan Hansen singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Oskaloosa Indians Varsity lost despite out-hitting Pella six to five.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Oskaloosa Indians Varsity tied things up at two when Landon Briggs doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Mason Wittmer got the start for Pella. The pitcher surrendered three runs on five hits over five innings, striking out eight.
Wes Wilcox was on the pitcher’s mound for Oskaloosa Indians Varsity. The righty lasted four innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out two. Alex Christ and Marcus Fresquez entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.
Briggs led Oskaloosa Indians Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
Pella tallied five hits in the game. Nick De Jong and Hansen each collected multiple hits for Pella. Pella tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Ryan Mace led the way with two.
