Oskaloosa High School Choirs Prepare for Annual Madrigal Dessert Theater
The Oskaloosa High School music department is getting ready for one of its biggest traditions of the year, the annual Madrigal Dessert Theater. This event has been part of the community for 21 years and continues to be a favorite for many families.
More than 100 high school students will take part in this year’s show. The Madrigal Singers, Chamber Choir, and Concert Choir will all perform. The program features music in an old-style madrigal setting, with costumes, singing, and storytelling to help bring the show to life.
This year’s Madrigal Dessert Theater will be held in the large gym at Oskaloosa Middle School. There will be two performances: Saturday, December 13, at 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 14, at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets cost 18 dollars per person. The price includes dessert, wassail, and an evening or afternoon full of music and entertainment. Tickets can be purchased on the high school activities website or at the door. Buying tickets online is preferred so organizers can plan for seating and refreshments. The Madrigal Dessert Theater gives students a chance to show their hard work and talent while also supporting the school’s choir program. With strong community support and a large student cast, the event is expected to draw a good crowd again this year.
