Oskaloosa Girls Wrestle at Home in Triangular Against Ankeny and DCG
OSKALOOSA — The Oskaloosa girls wrestling team hosted Ankeny and Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday night for their only home meet of the season. The Indians competed in a triangular and finished the night with six wins and six losses across the two duals.
Oskaloosa faced Ankeny in the first dual and fell by a team score of 46-21. Alyssa Sheets earned a win at 110 pounds with an 8-5 decision. Leah Tallent picked up a quick fall at 125 pounds, while Mia Luck won by fall at 135 pounds. Zayva Clausen added another pin for the Indians at 140 pounds. Kadence Briggs also scored points for Oskaloosa with a major decision at 170 pounds.
In the second dual against Dallas Center-Grimes, Oskaloosa lost by a team score of 54-18. Sheets earned her second win of the night with a fall in 40 seconds at 110 pounds. Luck picked up another win at 135 pounds with a fall, and Clausen remained unbeaten on the night with a pin at 140 pounds.
Sheets, Luck, and Clausen each finished the night 2-0 for the Indians. Several other matches were decided by forfeits as teams worked through open weight classes.
The Oskaloosa girls will be back on the mat Saturday at the North Mahaska Invitational before traveling to Centerville for another meet on Thursday.
