Oskaloosa Football League Holds Youth Football Camp at Stadium

Youth Football Camp

Youth Football Camp

Tuesday morning, June 3rd, the YMCA’s Oskaloosa Football League held a youth football camp for 1st through 6th graders at Lacey Recreation Complex. Almost 50 boys participated in the two-session camp, with 1st through 3rd starting in the morning and 4th through 6th following them at the stadium. The camp was lead by Coach Sterner, Oskaloosa High School’s head football coach, with OHS football players helping to teach the campers various techniques like hitting, blocking, and throwing. The young football campers wholly enjoyed having the High School football players teach them, according to the feedback received by Ryan Harkema, Sports Director at the YMCA. “It was great to have Coach Sterner and the high school players involved this year,” he stated, “it really helps our program out and it helps Coach Sterner out with these young future Indians!” The OHS players seemed pleased to be training Oskaloosa future players as well.
