Oskaloosa Bowling Teams Secure Wins Against Knoxville and Pella Christian

The Oskaloosa bowling teams both earned victories in a home meet against Knoxville and Pella Christian. The boys’ team remains undefeated at 7-0 on the season, while the girls’ team improves to 6-1.

Boys’ Team Maintains Perfect Record

The Oskaloosa boys’ bowling team continued their unbeaten streak despite an off day on the lanes. Trey VanWyk led the way with a 440 two-game series, including games of 224 and 216. Cole VanderWal followed closely behind with a 398 two-game series. Kyle McHawes also added a solid 378 series with a high game of 208. The team struggled with spares but managed to secure the win, and this will be a focus during practices after the holiday break.

Girls’ Team Steps Up Without Key Players

The Oskaloosa girls’ team came away with the win, even though they were missing a couple of key varsity players. Sidney Thompson led the team with a season-high 418 two-game series, including games of 211 and 207. Faith Carmer added a 159 game, and Paige VanderMeiden contributed with games of 124 and 123. The remaining players stepped up to help secure the victory, demonstrating depth and resilience despite the missing players.

JV Boys Team Also Wins

The Oskaloosa boys’ JV team also earned a win against Knoxville and Pella Christian. Keagan Pierson bowled his best two-game series of the season with a 379 total, including games of 168 and 211. Ethan Siggins added a 177 game, while Reuben Chilcote posted his highest game of the season with a 171.

Looking Ahead

With the wins, both the Oskaloosa boys and girls teams continue to build momentum for the rest of the season. Spare shooting will be an area of focus for the boys’ team as they prepare for the next part of the season.
