OHS Academic Club Attends CelebrAsian

On Saturday, May 27th, the OHS academic club, C.R.A.M. (Cultural Reviews of Asian Media) traveled to Des Moines for CelebrAsian, Iowa’s largest Asian American event. The group enjoyed authentic food, cultural exhibits, and live entertainment. Highlights included henna at the Indian Village, watching the Takraw (foot volleyball) tournament, martial arts showcases, and amazing food!

A special shout-out goes to Mr. O’Brien for volunteering his time to drive a second vehicle so 14 students could attend this year. Lastly, I’d like to thank recent graduates, Abigial Lindgren, Brenna Lindgren, Callie Lindgren, Olivia Muir, Myles Strait, and Abigail Wilford for turning this enrichment group into an academic club over a year ago. Their leadership, enthusiasm, and passion for studying Asian cultures will be missed next year!
