October 25, 2025

Belleville, IL – Three different Warriors found the back of the net to lead No. 10 Indian Hills Men’s Soccer to a 3-1 victory on the road at Southwestern Illinois Community College on Friday. The Warriors move to 8-3-4 overall on the year.

Indian Hills earned a key road win ahead of the Warriors’ season finale on October 31. The Warriors struck first in the opening minutes of play before the Blue Storm answered with a goal minutes later. Indian Hills used a pair of second half goals to surge past Southwestern Illinois to improve to 2-0-0 all-time vs. the Blue Storm.

The Warriors controlled a majority of the match in a cross-district matchup in Belleville, tallying 29 shots on the day, including 14 on net.

Freshman Yuma Tsuzurabara (Tokyo, Japan/Sendai Ikuei) opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a breakaway goal on an assist from sophomore defender Kira Fukuda (Hiroshima, Japan/Setouchi). Southwestern Illinois struck back roughly five minutes later to even the score at 1-1.

Both sides entered the second half deadlocked at one, but the Warriors were able to bury the go ahead goal just five minutes into the final frame. Sophomore Fabian Arroyo (Ciudad Quesada, Costa Rica/Liceo San Carlos) headed home a cross from the right side from Fukuda to push Indian Hills ahead 2-1. The Warriors used a late goal in the 87th minute from sophomore Carlos Noboa (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Centro Educativo Miraflores) on an assist from Rafael Posada (Chicago, IL/West Chicago Community). Noboa was able to beat a series of defenders to find an opening at the top of the box for his second goal of the year.

Keepers Santo Aguek Melbourne, Australia/Thomas Carr) and Ilhan Benbraham (Bagnolet, France/Lycée Saint Benoist de l’Europe) split time in net for the Warriors with Benbraham securing his first victory in net at Indian Hills.

The Warriors will now close out the regular season contest against Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) foe Iowa Western Community College on Friday, October 31. A win or tie for the Warriors would secure the outright regular season title and the right to host the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men’s Soccer Midwest District Championship November 6-8. The Warriors are currently 1-0-1 vs. the Reivers this year.
