NM Second at Pekin
PACKWOOD – North Mahaska’s wrestlers took to the mats at the Bill Rex tourney hosted by Pekin High School and placed second in the meet. Albia took the team title with 170 points and North Mahaska placed second with 113. Davis County was third with 102 points.
Brackets on Track Wrestling were incomplete as of Sunday morning, but according to information posted on Facebook, Ryan Groom at 132 pounds, Chris Long at 175 and 190-pounder Chance Angle went 5-0 on the day to claim titles.
According to Trackwrestling, three other Warhawks went 4-1 on the day including Cole Wernli at 138, Dawson DeBoef at 150 and Angello Wittenberg at 165. Hunter Wernli finished 4-2 at 144 pounds and Joel DeJong went 2-1 at 126 pounds.
Gage Reis at 150 and Austin McMahan at 190 finished 2-2 on the day.
The Warhawks will return to action Thursday when they host Baxter and Knoxville beginning at 6 p.m.
