NJCAA National Rankings Include Final Men’s and Women’s Basketball Poll
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA National Office released the final rankings for all three divisions of men’s and women’s basketball. As teams across the country gear up for postseason play, the NJCAA has announced the 2022 NJCAA Basketball Selection Shows that will air live on the beginning March 2. Visit here for full release.
Below is a summary of the rankings from Tuesday’s announcement:
DI Women’s Basketball | There were no changes to the top six of the NJCAA DI Women’s Basketball poll, with Three Rivers (MO) holding strong at 26-0. Southern Idaho used a six-game win streak to improve in the rankings to No. 9. Tyler (TX) dropped from No. 7 to No. 13 this week and Chipola (FL) dropped from No. 12 to No. 14.
DI Men’s Basketball | There was a slight change in the latest NJCAA DI Men’s Basketball poll, but the No. 1 spot remained the same as Salt Lake (UT) finished the season at the helm. Kilgore (TX) and Dodge City (KS) both improved a place in the rankings this week, coming in at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
DII Women’s Basketball | The top-five remained the same in the final NJCAA DII Women’s Basketball poll, keeping Kirkwood (IA) on top. Mesa (AZ) moved from receiving votes to No. 13 and Illinois Central beat two ranked opponents to advance three spots to No. 11. Niagara County (NC) rounded-out the list at No. 20.
DII Men’s Basketball | The NJCAA DII Men’s Basketball poll saw South Suburban (IL) in the No. 1 spot and Davidson-Davie (NC) in the No. 2 spot. Des Moines Area (IA) shifted up three spots to No. 8 and Wake Tech (NC) rose into the top-20 to claim No. 18 this week.
DIII Women’s Basketball | The NJCAA DIII Women’s Basketball poll had no changes in the final round of rankings as spots 1-15 remained the same. Owens (OH) finished 22-3 in a dominating ruling at No. 1 for 13 weeks straight. Riverland (MN), North Country (NY), and Northampton (PA) filled the final three spots in the lineup.
DIII Men’s Basketball | Genesee (NY) and Rhode Island (NY) surged into the top-five in the latest NJCAA DIII Men’s Basketball poll. Riverland (MN) and Onondaga (NY) claimed spots No. 1 and No. 2, while Rock Valley (NY) entered the top-15 after knocking off top-five Joliet (IL).
Regular season polls for DI, DII, and DIII baseball, as well as DI and DII softball will take place Monday, February 28. DIII softball regular season polls will return on Monday, April 4. Men’s and women’s lacrosse regular season rankings will return on Monday, March 14.
