Motorcycle Rider Injured In Afternoon Crash Sunday

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Emergency personnel were called to a motor vehicle accident at 3:47 pm on Sunday afternoon, along Highway 92 near the intersection of North 3rd in Oskaloosa.

A 2005 Chevrolet Impala driven by Alishia Ferneau, 35 of Oskaloosa, was eastbound on A Ave in the left lane, and attempted to make a left turn into a gas station on the north side of the roadway. A motorcycle driven by Joshua Mark West, 39 of Oskaloosa, was westbound in the left lane of A Ave when the motorcycle struck the turning Impala. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected off the motorcycle in the collision.

West was transported to Mahaska Health by ambulance.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash remains under investigation. They were assisted by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, the Oskaloosa Police Department, Oskaloosa Fire Department, and Mahaska Health Emergency Services.
