The Mahaska Communication Group (MCG) gives back to the community with communications projects around the neighborhood.

In one such project, MCG has been working this week at the stadium at Lacey Recreation Complex splicing the fiber that connects the press box communications to their network. “This allows for the Internet, television service and the live broadcast of both the high school and Penn games,” stated Steve Burnett, MCG’s marketing manager.

With some communication wiring previously installed, William Penn’s Athletic Director, Greg Hafner, was happy last year when Niles Media came to cover a Penn game and said that the stadium had the best pressbox set up to broadcast TV that they have covered. Greg looks forward to more televised games for William Penn this year .

Mahaska Community Recreation Foundation, MCRF, is a non profit organization that oversees the complex and relies on donations and volunteers such as MCG. “We are very grateful to MCG for their work all over the complex. They are an excellent supporter of youth recreational activities”, said Sherry Vavra, Executive Director of the MCRF. “They willingly donate about 100 hours of volunteer work each year!”
