Max Eugene “Mick” Parcel Jr., 58, of Fort Worth, Texas and formerly of Fremont, Iowa, died Monday, September 22, 2014 in Texas. He was born November 25, 1955 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Max and Marilyn Alvine Parcel.

Mick graduated from Fremont High School. Mick worked for 40 years at BNSF Railroad as a Service Designer. Mick was an avid Washington Redskins and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed playing his guitar and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Mick is survived by his daughter: Jennifer (& Ronald) Carey of Plainfield, Illinois; two sons: Jeremy (& Randi) Parcel of Galesburg, Illinois and Jordan Parcel of Plainfield, Illinois; five grandchildren: Will Carey, Mia Carey, Evan Carey, Dylan Parcel and Chace Parcel; his mother: Marilyn Parcel; and six sisters: Mari Kleinschmidt of What Cheer, Kris (& Vern) Kelderman of Kirkville, Kay (& David) Johnson of Centennial, Colorado, Claretta Martin of Arizona City, Arizona, Liz (& Jack) Sells of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Marchia (& Bill) Parr of Geneseo, Illinois; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Max Parcel Sr.; a brother, Gerald Parcel; a sister, Mary Louise Gould; two brothers-in-law: Bob Kleinschmidt and Gary Martin.

As was his wish, Mick’s body has been cremated.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont, Iowa.
Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery south of Fremont following the service.
Visitation will be held after 1 P.M. Friday, October 10, 2014 in the Fremont Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel Friday from 5 – 7 P.M. to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation in Mick’s name.
