Mahaska Health Partnership Recognizes Nursing Assistants Week

MAHASKA COUNTY – In acknowledgement of Nursing Assistants Week, June 13 through 20, Mahaska Health Partnership would like to recognize the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) that are making healthcare personal at MHP.
According to the Iowa Workforce Information Network, CNAs provide personal care, monitor and assess health status, and maintain a secure environment in which patients can heal under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
“Whether they are working behind the scenes or directly with a patient, CNAs play a vital role in the healing process of a patient,” explained MHP Chief Nursing Officer Darlene Keuning. “Our CNAs deserve this genuine recognition of the selfless duties they perform on a daily basis.”
This year marks the 36th anniversary of celebrating Nursing Assistants Week and the unique contributions CNAs make to ensure patients are appropriately cared for. Nursing assistants are key players in the lives of the patients they serve.
“CNAs can be found in the hospital and in the home,” Keuning said. “Their compassion and dedication to providing high quality care is what our patients remember, long after they have left our doors.”
Nursing assistants are on the front lines of patient care and have a big impact on the quality of service MHP provides. CNAs are often the eyes and ears of what is going on and can alert nurses if any situation should arise.
