Kaune Again Named to First Team, Hoff on HM Squad

Oskaloosa–A pair of Statesmen rollers claimed high honors from the league as the all-Midwest Collegiate Conference men’s bowling teams were announced today.

Jacques Kaune (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska, Business Management) was chosen for the five-player first team, while Stian Hoff (So., Orkanger, Norway, General Accounting) took home honorable-mention status along with five others. It is Kaune’s second award (both first-team nods), while Hoff is a first-time recipient.

In 68 games thus far this season, Kaune has a 201.6 average to be ranked #71 in the country according to collegebowling.com. The junior has notched five top-25 efforts (two in the top 10) and has posted a high score of 279.

Hoff’s 195.4 average has come over the span of 41 games. The owner of one top-25 performance, his top game is 252.

St. Ambrose’s Kyle Anderson and Clarke’s Tyler Heintzelman shared MCC Player of the Year honors, while Adam Morse of SAU was selected as Newcomer of the Year. St. Ambrose’s Eric Littig was named MCC Coach of the Year by his peers.

The all-MCC Tournament team was announced as well with Lucas Perdieu (So., DeWitt, Iowa, Public Accounting) being named Tournament MVP for his 226.5 average (six games) last Saturday. He topped the 67-person field by eclipsing the 200-pin mark in all six rounds (high of 257).
