Joel Nolan Sims, age 60, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, passed away on September 13, 2025, at his home.
He as born on November 14, 1964, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Mae Sims.

Joel spent his early life in Oskaloosa, graduating from high school in 1983.

He worked for several companies in Oskaloosa, including Clow, Hy-Vee and Pepsi.

Joel honorable served in the United States Army from 1986 until 1990.

After his military service, he lived briefly in California before returning to Iowa, where he established his
homestead “Green Acres” with his wife, Cheri, and their dog, Jack.

Joel is survived by his wife, Cheri; his brothers: John (& Waneta) Sims, Jerrie (& Kerry) Sims and Jim
Sims; and his sisters: Ruth (& Joel) McNew, Robin (& John) Mason and Rita Ziegler. He is also
survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae; his brother, Jack; his nephew, Jeremiah; a
niece and nephew; and his beloved dog, Jack.

In accordance with Joels wishes, Joel was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
