Janet Berry, 68 of Montezuma passed away Saturday morning, September 3, 2022 at the Montezuma Specialty Care. Janet Kay Berry, the daughter of Lyle and Betty (Olson) Berry, was born on December 10, 1953 in Grinnell, Iowa.

Janet attended school in Malcom for intellectual disabilities until they closed and was transferred to a school in Marshalltown.

Following school, Janet was a resident of Diamond Life Care Center in Montezuma for over 40 years. Janet loved her time at Diamond Life and enjoyed the activities and parties the staff held for their residents. She liked doing puzzles, listening to music when she was younger, chocolate and going for car rides to get ice cream.

Janet’s memory will be honored by her siblings: Donnie Berry of Montezuma, Ellen (& Mark) Van Der Veer of Montezuma and Tom Berry of Montezuma; her nieces and nephews: Shelly (& Jeff) Shoemaker, Shannon (& Mike) Arendt, Brian (& Nicole) Berry, Brad (& Sarah) Baker, Mark (& Linda) Baker, Travis (& Amy) Johannes and Jessie (& Ed) Gullion; along with several great nieces and nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Betty Berry.

Graveside funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 with a procession to form at 10:30 to go to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Montezuma Specialty Care Activities Department.
