Iowa High School Wrestling Gets Underway

High School Sports Action on KIIC

The Iowa High School State Wrestling tournament is underway at Well’s Fargo Arena in Des Moines opening this morning in Class 3A. Here are some local results from KIIC.

113 – Jay Fresh of Knoxville – Pinned in 1:12 by Fredy Stroker of Bettendorf. Stroker has only one loss on the year and advances to 41-1 Fresh falls to 31-9 and enters the wrestleback bracket and will wrestle later.

145 – Lane Colwell of Knoxville loses to Brayton Taylor in a 10-0 major decision. Colewell is now 38-5 on the year and will also wrestleback later today.

152 – Tyler Chatterton of Knoxville beats Gayge Samuelson of Decorah 10-4, Samuelson was ranked 10th in the state.
