Oskaloosa–Sarah Hansen (Sr., Kewanee, Ill., Psychology) put up a pair of big performances last week as she was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.

Hansen garnered her first laurel after leading William Penn (19-5, 13-2 Heart) to two wins last week, including an upset of #5 MidAmerica Nazarene on the road last Saturday.

She opened the week with a 26-point showing against Peru State, headlined by making six three-pointers. The senior then added a 21-point effort versus the Pioneers. She knocked down four trifectas and also added seven free throws. She now has 19 double-digit games, including six times with at least 20 points.

For the year, Hansen is averaging 15.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in addition to 32 assists, 35 steals, and one block. She owns a 39.8% field-goal clip (40.1% 3-PT) and is 80.0% from the free-throw line.

The award is the second for WPU this year.
