Handful Rated Entering Postseason

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s wrestling team has five members rated in the league as the NAIA released its sixth and final set of polls this week.

Entering the national-qualifying Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship next Friday and Saturday, William Penn is tied for 41st in the nation with 12 points, while Grand View is first with 275 points. Life (Ga.) (271), Menlo (Calif.) (202), Providence (Mont.) (184), and Southeastern (Fla.) (178) complete the top five.

Cameron Hargrove (Jr., Bolingbrook, Ill., Sports Management) is the top point-getter for the navy and gold, sitting in 19th at 165 pounds, while 157-pounder Kael Bunce (Sr., Stockbridge, Mich., Mechanical Engineering) is 23rd nationally.

With five grapplers ranked, WPU is seventh in the Heart with 67 points. GVU is at the head of the standings with 228 points.

Hargrove, in second, and Bunce, in third, are pacing the Statesmen, while 133-pounder Lane Scorpil (So., Columbus Junction, Iowa, Industrial Technology) is fourth.

165-pounder Ryan Van Donselaar (Jr., Otley, Iowa, Exercise Science) and 174-pounder Branson Bottorff (Sr., Mackinaw, Ill., Industrial Technology) are both sixth in the conference polls.
