Gwen Holtzman ’19, a midfielder from Las Cruces, N.M. (Las Cruces), has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week
GRINNELL, Iowa – Gwen Holtzman ’19, a midfielder from Las Cruces, N.M. (Las Cruces), has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week.
Holtzman assisted a stingy defense that posted two shutouts over the weekend as Grinnell moved to 3-0 in league play for the second year in a row. The Pioneers blanked Lake Forest College 1-0, allowing only seven shots in the contest, and rolled over Lawrence University 2-0 as they held a 39-3 shots edge against the Vikings. For the season, Grinnell has a goals against average of 0.75. Holtzman also had a goal against Lawrence, her second of the year.
The MWC Offensive Performer of the Week is Rosie Medina of Knox College.
