GRINNELL’S WILLIAMS, FORREST OUT TO GOOD STARTS AT U.S. PARALYMPIC TRIALS

BISMARCK, N.D. – Two Grinnell College student-athletes had strong showings on the opening day of the United States Paralympic Swimming Trials on Thursday.

Claire Williams ’13 finished third in the 400-meter S9 category freestyle in a time of 5:15.23, a clocking that also ranks 11th in the world. She had a time of 5:12.84 in the preliminaries.

Claire Forrest ’13 added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter S6 category freestyle in 7:34.10, which ranks 24th in the world. She went 7:34.29 in the preliminaries.

The two will continue to participate in the meet Friday and Saturday.
