Grinnell Volleyball Sweeps Lawrence to Stay Unbeaten in Conference Play

The Grinnell College volleyball team secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Lawrence University on October 12, 2024, in Appleton, Wisconsin, continuing their strong run in Midwest Conference play. The Pioneers, now 15-5 overall and 2-0 in conference, won in straight sets with scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-17.

Jenna Keller led the Pioneers with 14 kills, hitting .379, and adding one ace and three digs. Keira Sullivan contributed with nine kills, while Millie Leonard added seven. Emily Brewer was key in setting up the offense, dishing out 23 assists and recording three service aces. Defensively, Sophie Weber anchored the back row with 13 digs, helping to keep Lawrence’s offense in check.

Lawrence University, now 6-16 overall and 1-2 in conference play, was led by Hazel Cook, who finished with 13 kills and hit .303. Despite a solid performance from Cook, Grinnell’s consistent attack and defensive resilience proved too much for Lawrence to overcome.

The Pioneers will look to build on this momentum as they continue their conference schedule, eyeing further success in the Midwest Conference
