Green’s AOY Nets Fifth AOW Accolade
Oskaloosa–Gabriel Green (Jr., Anniston, Ala., Anniston HS) was again the league’s top runner last weekend and for his efforts he was named Midwest Collegiate Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week yesterday.
Green, who is honored for the fifth time this year (tenth overall in career), swept the sprints at the MCC Championships to be the league’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year recipient for the second season in a row. He has three AOY awards in his career, including one from his freshman indoor campaign.
The junior won last weekend’s 100-meter dash in a time of 10.58 seconds (NAIA ‘A’ time). He also took the 200 in 21.80 seconds and led the field in the 400 with an NAIA ‘B’ time of 48.43 seconds.
His 100 time ranks 15th in the nation, while his 400 finish is the 31st best this year.
The award is the sixth for William Penn this year.
