OSKALOOSA – Oskaloosa Girl Scouts are looking for adults interested in volunteering with our organization as troop leaders, troop co-leaders, or helpers in our community for the upcoming 2013-2014 year!

An adult recruitment night will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8 at Smokey Row Coffee House. Adult volunteers are needed to help girls discover their courage, confidence and character, and to help girls develop leadership skills like goal setting, teamwork, self-esteem and community service.

Although parents are ideal to fill these positions, it is not a requirement that you have a daughter or granddaughter in Girl Scouts to be eligible to volunteer. Neighbors, relatives, friends, Girl Scout alumnae, retirees or any other adult who wishes to help today’s girls grow into competent, resourceful women, are encouraged to attend our event. No previous Girl Scout experience is needed. Local mentoring and support is provided by the local Oskaloosa Girl Scout Service Team, and resource material is available.

Troop leaders and co-leaders have flexibility in deciding when and how frequently troops meet. If you have questions about this event, or would like more information about being involved with Oskaloosa Girl Scouts in an adult volunteer capacity, please contact Stephanie McAdoo at 641-295-3519.
