Former William Penn musical instructors are dusting off their instruments and warming up their vocal cords in anticipation of returning to Oskaloosa for the Jazz and Music Alumni Extravaganza!
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Returning music faculty members including David Evans (‘78-‘91), Paul Carpenter (‘75-‘81), John Westlund (‘67-‘76), Ron Lipka (‘87-‘94), Linda Eliason (‘65-‘96), and Pearl Wormhoudt (‘58-‘81) are journeying from locations in Iowa, Tennessee, Kentucky, and New Mexico to participate in this Homecoming event.
These beloved instructors will be taking an active part in the Alumni Homecoming Music Extravaganza by helping during rehearsal times and directing performances.
The Meet & Greet Music Showcase and Jam Session is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Friday, October 28 at Smokey Row. Saturday the 29th starts with registration from 8:00-10:00 a.m. in the McGrew Fine Arts Center, rehearsals until lunch, a performance by Jazz/Music Alumni and current students at the Homecoming football game, and musical performances at the post-game dinner and alumni dance.
The choir will perform during the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at the College Avenue Friends Church. All vocalists and instrumentalists are invited to join the choir and band at William Penn for the Music Extravaganza October 28-30 in celebration of music, friends, and William Penn!
