Foresters Stay Perfect, Shut Out Grinnell 3–0

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The Grinnell College women’s soccer team battled one of the nation’s top-ranked programs on Saturday, falling 3–0 to unbeaten Lake Forest College at Farwell Field.

Lake Forest, now 17–0 overall and 7–0 in the Midwest Conference, controlled possession throughout and limited Grinnell to no shots while recording 13 of their own. The Foresters built a 1–0 halftime advantage and never looked back, adding two goals in the second half to stay perfect on the season.

Senior forward Anna Gracia opened the scoring in the 35th minute, converting off an assist from Maggie Balas. In the second half, Anna Hoffman made it 2–0 in the 64th minute on a setup from Annabelle Schroeder, who then added a goal of her own just five minutes later to close the scoring.

Grinnell goalkeeper Peyton Dixon faced a heavy workload, logging 90 minutes in goal with two saves against constant Forester pressure. Defenders Sarah Travis, Zoe Kunzman, and Ella Hunt anchored the back line as the Pioneers worked to hold off repeated attacks and eight Lake Forest corner kicks.

Despite the loss, the Pioneers (5–7–4, 2–3–2 MWC) continued to show defensive toughness against one of the most complete offenses in Division III. Grinnell will look to regroup in their final conference matchup as they aim to close the season above .500 in league play.
